The day Mangalore was shamed…..

A handful of narrow minded,ill informed,fanatics and extortionists have tainted the name of mangalore forever.”We are not like this”,i want to scream to the world, but my scream is lost in the din and frenzy of media coverage of the unscrupulous mob.It’s time we stood up against this madness or sooner or later it will consume us,one way or the other.

In recent times we have seen a number of such organisations springing up all over karnataka.Some  profess to espouse the cause of kannada,some caste and some religion.Under our constitution they have all right to do this.Each one has a right to opinion but no one has the right to take the law into their own hand.When this happens we cease to be a civil society.It’s time the right thinking among us,who i am sure is the majority ,albeit the silent one,start taking a stand against this.

In 1946 Niemöller wrote a poem of the holocaust. First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out – because I was not a communist; Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out – because I was not a socialist; Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out – because I was not a trade unionist; Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out – because I was not a Jew; Then they came for me – and there was no one left to speak out for me.

The politician who encourage these groups for narrow political gains fail to understand,how in the long term these things harm the country.It’s difficult to understand what the police is afraid of.Can we trust them to protect us from terrorists when they cant protect us from a handful of goons?or is their hands tied?The brazenness of the mob and their gall to invite the press to watch their vandalism suggests that the police is going soft on them.

Who let the dog’s out?who,who???

Ours is a strange country.Here the rich and the famous and of course our judges seem think dogs are more important than children.That is the only conclusion that can be drawn by the spate of judgements in the recent past.

There are four kinds of animal lovers in India

1.Celebrities looking for cheap publicity

2.bored rich searching for a cause

3.”animals” trying to make a quick buck under the banner of various organisations espousing the cause of dogs(ofcoures there are a few genuine ones)

4.genuine animal lover’s.This i am sure is the minuscule minority.

Kindly note that all the above groups and our honorable judges travel in A.C cars.Even when they are in contact with dogs(some animal lovers do come in contact!!!!),its in a controlled environment.

Sure we have to treat animals humanely in a civil society.Sure animals have right too.But all that applies only after we start treating human beings humanely.Here we are equating human life to that of dogs.Is a litter per year bitches grief at loss of a puppy same as that of the mother who looses her child?Is the effect on the dog’s same as the devastating effect that a loss of an earning member will have on a human family?

Why is it that a dead dog becomes so important in a country where all kinds of animals are tortured,killed and eaten?Is this Because they are presumed to be intelligent?According to some research pigs are more intelligent than dogs.Just because they can be trained,they cant be termed intelligent.In fact the reverse may be true.

Have these animals and bird lovers given any thought to the wild animals in our so called zoos?Wonder why our learned judges don’t pass orders to set them free.A swift painless death is much better then a lifetime of imprisonment.Why does not eating chicken tandoori or fish fry not prick the conscious of these animal lovers?

Have these animal lovers ever seen a child die of rabies. Usually these patients suffer physically but are very alert mentally and are aware of the impending death.Have they ever wondered what must be going through the mind of that child’s mother.I know of a 6 year old child who went on asking the mother weather he would die and kept repeating that he did not want to die.He did this till he died…….

Each of these animal lovers need to ask themselves a question.Would they kill a thousand dogs if his child’s life was at stake? I am sure they would not mind killing a million.But now it’s not their relatives that are dying.It’s mostly the poor and the wretched that  are dying.Those, who don’t have a voice.Those who are incapable of arguing their case in front of the learned judges.Forget dying of rabies these people are unmoved when children were mauled by stray’s recently in Bangalore.

Here In India 25000-30000 people die a slow torturous death due to rabies.Add to that the scores of two wheel riders who get injured/die because of stray dogs.The only solution i think , to keep this under control is to kill as many stray dogs as possible till the time we learn to be more humane to humans.Then we can think of being more humane to dogs…..

O’PALESTINE,MY HEART BLEEDS FOR THEE….

Its ceasefire time…… or is it?After 22 days of hostilities the two warring sides declared ceasefire.but there are reports of continued gun battles and rocket attacks.Even if there is peace everyone knows it will only be temporary .soon there Will be another round of blood letting.There never seems to be any end to this vexed problem.The western powers not only colonised every region in the world but when they left they made sure that the region would never be in peace.Be it India-Pakistan or isrel-palestine.

Brief history-If there is no bible there is no israel.There is no promised land.This land according to the hebrew bible was promised to them by none other then god.This myth,not substantiated by any archaeological findings is the basis of  israel and the of zionist movement.Although god promised them that land,not once in the entire history did they manage to rule that land,expect indirectly for a period of 60 years when egypt was ruled by  king’s called antiochus.Later it came under romans.The jews rebelled against them and were massacred.All this happened around 130 A.D and after that the jews were never the majority in palestine.

Modern history-Although the struggle for the promised land is centuries old,the Zionist movement for the formation of israel started in the late 1890’s.In 1917 during the first world war,the British desperate for support promised the jews israel by signing the balfour declaration,which stated that the British Government  viewed with favour the establishment in palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.At that time the jewish population was round 55000 of the total population of 7,30,000.

As the jews started immigrating to their promised land,resentment among the palestenians who had been residing there from centuries grew.There were violent attacks against the jews.The british responded to the pressure from the majority arab’s by imposing immigration restrictions.Although the immigration abated a in the 20’s,it again picked up steam in the 30’s when there was persecution of the jews in europe.The arabs revolted against this.The british sided with the arabs.The jews revolted violently through their terrorist organisation’s like the haganah and the stem gang.By now the jewish population had increased to 4.5 lac out of the total 15 lak.Please note that even then they were the minority.

Britain had enough.They transferred the matter to UN and announced they would withdraw by 1948.The UN decided to split palestine into israel(53%)of the total land and arab state(43% of the total land)

 

.As expected this was rejected outright by the arabs and a war ensued as soon as the british withdrew.The jews won that war and the subsequent wars and greatly increased its area by occupying west bank golan heights gaza strip.

CONCLUSIONS

1.There is no archaeological proof that jews were ever the rulers\or majority  of  this land at any point in time.

2.They systematically destroyed the original inhabitants  the palestenians and drove then out of their own country where they had lived for thousands of years.

3.For the past 80-90 years they have used terror,and embargo to drive palestinians away from their own country.They were literally starved and denied basic necessities.

4.USA is as much responsible for this disaster as israel because without their support,israel would not even  exist today.

           Just picture this. Jews formed just 11% of the population in 1922.By forced immigration they became 30% in 1942 and now they form 80% of the population.The palestinians ,original inhabitants are  homeless for the past 60 years and live in refugee camps.Of course the jews have been persecuted in the past,all over the world but what they are doing now Cannot be justified.

WILL THIS CONFLICT EVER END?

LIC – CONNING THE GULLIBLE

 Its that time of the year again and LIC is ready with yet another plan to entrap the innocent(or dum) by promising the moon.

Last year it was money plus.This year its jeevan aastha.The modus operendi is simple.Announce a scheme.create hype about it.Unleash its agents to spread false information/incomplete information.Make a killing.Now our friendly neighbourhood agent is not a direct employee of the lic corporation.So the company cant be held responsible for his misdemeanours.can they?

 2008-The small towns and villages in india were abuzz with LIC money plus.The agents roamed the streets telling anyone who cared to listen on how they could be millionaires by just investing 10000.Pamphlets were circulated with the same promise.Their logic was simple.They just illustrated the returns of the equity market for the past 5 years.They projected the same for the next 10 years and voila u r a millionaire.What they forgot to mention was that the past 5 years was the best 5 years of indian market or that the next 10 yre will certainly not be that good.Nor did they tell anyone that market linked schemes have a risk factor to it and they could even loose the money they have put.I know many people who have invested in this scheme without knowing anything about the working of the equity market.They dont  know that the present nav of their investment is less then the purchase value.They dont even know NAV.

2009-I am writing this because i received a pamphlet from a unknown publisher with my morning paper today.This time its jeevan aastha.Its de javu time.Same false information and hiding of facts.

1.it claims that for a 10 year policy the returns will be 10% which is better then fixed deposit rate of 8.5 to 9%.What it fails to mention is that the return from LIC policy is simple 10%,well as bank deposits is compounded quarterly.So if u put 50,000 in lic jeevan aastha your assured return is 1.00.000 after 10 years.If the same is deposited in bank you get 1,16,433 considering a interest rate of 8.5% 

2.further they claim that risk coverage is 6 TIMES the premium.What they fail to tell you is that it is only for the first year it is 6 times.from 2nd year its only 2 times.If you have invested 1,00,000,then istyear u get a coverage of around 6.00,000 but from 2ndyear its only around 2,00,000.

So look before you leap.Dont confuse investment and risk coverage.They are two different things.Everyone who says they will give you the best of two world are only fooling you be it LIC or other private insurance companies.But unlike private insurance companies,the agents of LIC are spread even in small towns and villages and people here easily fall prey to their mis information.

instead of investing 1,00,000 in jeevan aastha…………..
take a term assurance plan for 5,00,000 for 10 years.You will have to pay 1282/year as premium.The total for 10 years is 12820
rest 98718 you invest in tax saving fixed deposit.you will get 2,28,918 at the end of 10 years.

So you get a coverage of 5 lac for all 10 years and return of 128918.If on the othe hand you invest in jeevan aastha,then you get assured return of only 1,00,000 and coverage of only 2,00,000 from 2nd year.

1.the above example assumes that jeevan aastha is taxable BECAUSE HERE THE PREMIUM PAYED WILL BE MORE 20% of SUM ASSURED.

“Truth alone triumphs”.I am yet to find a more untruthful sentence……….

Is the satyam computers scam the biggest ever in Indian corporate history.I don’t think so.It may be the biggest ever to be exposed or self-exposed but there are in all probability, bigger ones to be unearthed.

Market manipulations,insider trading are norms rather then exceptions in indian corporate world.SEBI at best is a toothless mice whose officers are most probably at the payrolls of these corporate honchos.The less said about the auditors the better.That’s the problem with this country.Here everything and everyone has a price.

Whats diffrent in the satyam scam is the magnitude of  manipulation of the balance sheet.Whats baffling is the involvement of the auditors.Surely they would know that this would not go unnoticed forever.

Ramlingam raju,you say “It was like riding a tiger, not knowing how to get off without being eaten,” .You have got down. Its not you that the tiger has eaten.It’s the share holders who have been devoured.As for you,i am sure you have stacked enough money somewhere to last a few generations.Do you have a mirror in your house???

The least the govt can do is appoint independent directors to satyam and confiscate all assets of raju and his family.

The SEBI,like the I-T dept should check at least2% of all published corporate results every year weather it be audited or unaudited.But then again,in or country everything and everyone has a price……….
